Pennsylvania father gives 16-year-old daughter heroin that causes her to overdose, authorities say

Kerry Long's daughter survived Saturday only after she was given four doses of naloxone, a chemical that reverses the effects of the dangerous drug.

A police officer had given her the first dose, Lancaster cops said, and paramedics gave her three additional doses when they arrived.
"That would be a lot," paramedic Luke Dunn, who gave her the final three doses, told NBC 10. "Sometimes it happens that way."

When she regained consciousness, the teen told cops that her father had supplied her with the heroin. She was taken to a hospital for additional treatment and observation, Lancaster cops said in a press release.
"The fact that someone was willing to risk their own life and their child's life is disturbing to say the least,” Sgt. Bill Hickey told NBC 10.
Long, 35, was taken into custody on an unrelated bench warrant. He has been newly charged with aggravated assault, corruption of minors, endangering the welfare of children and heroin possession.
He remains jailed after being unable to post $1 million bail.
